LC16 cabinet, by Le Corbusier for Cassina.
A simple wooden writing desk, originally designed in 1957 for children’s rooms in an apartment building in Rezé, a suburb of Nantes, France. Le Corbusier’s interest in creating harmonious surrounding is prominent in his work, exploring furniture built with space in mind for the LC16. With references to modular systems and human measurements, the LC16 was formed. Consisting of a shelving unit and work-surface, this cabinet is highly versatile and made to be practical. The shelves can be customised by adding additional shelves.
